Los Angeles, CA

Located in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood, the seven-story multifamily Sawyer complex artfully reinterprets architectural character and materials of a historic Normandy-style Korean Methodist Church located within the same block while offering amenities and convenience to this evolving neighborhood.

Addressing the modern needs of young professionals and city-dwellers through a distinctly contemporary design, the 224-unit residence showcases masonry corner quoins reimagined as glass balconies and patios, linear brick panels that ground the facade but rise in an interplay of articulated planes of brick, stucco, and metal cladding, and deeply recessed glass-fronted balconies.
