Case Study: Site Planning
TestFit is one of the tools we’ve tested in our Innovation Lab. It’s a real-time site planning platform that helps visualize and test design scenarios instantly based on parameters like program type, parking, density and unit mix. While it’s not used on every project, it is available for BSB’s designers to consider when assessing a new potential project site. For appropriate projects with clear inputs, TestFit’s rapid site planning capabilities can be especially helpful in the early stages of feasibility conversations.
To that end, BSB Design explored how TestFit could streamline early design discussions by automating site plan concepts based on real-world constraints provided by information integrated in the platform, as well as client provided program specifics. For the right project types, the tool proved invaluable as it enabled our teams to quickly visualize multiple layout options and make faster, more informed decisions early in the process. That proof of concept is why our Innovation Lab adopted TestFit as one of the tools available to our design experts during the initial planning phase.
