Abod Shelters

BSB Design has had the amazing opportunity to develop a program known as “Change the World”. Through this philanthropic endeavor, the Abōd Shelters project was born.

This innovative housing solution will soon change the face of third world homelessness, turning squatter camps and scrap metal shacks into problems of the past. Check out Abōd Shelters online at

Habitat for Humanity

BSB Design has worked with the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity on designs for several new homeowners. And, for the first time in September 2015, the BSB Design team had an even greater opportunity to bring a dream to life for the family by participating in the build!

Many employees volunteered to put their construction skills to work for a good cause and filled all the spots for the full, and fulfilling, day’s work. Other, less construction-handy employees, shopped for and prepared lunches to bring out to the crew.

Extreme Makeover

When the call came, we were more thanBSB Extreme Makeover Home ready to lend our services to this worthy, charitable cause. BSB Design’s Des Moines, IA, office developed the Extreme Makeover Home for the fourth episode in the fall of 2006.

The home replaced a rural Iowa family’s former residence, which burned to the ground just before Christmas in 2005.

Reminiscent of a Grant Wood painting, the home blends perfectly into the surrounding trees, hills and fields of the surrounding Iowa farmland. The uniquely traditional farmhouse elevation is embellished with a grand second-story balcony supported by stone pillars, making it far from typical. Landscaped grounds throughout and custom interiors complete the package.

To wrap up the summer of 2007, BSB Design offices on both sides of the country contributed designs for HomeAid’s “Project Playhouse”. In Atlanta (above), our team worked with Dovetail Homes, Ryland Homes and Whitestone Custom Homes to create three uniquely whimsical playhouses. These playhouses prove that the details make all the difference, especially for the families that benefit from HomeAid’s dedicated outreach programs.

BSB Design is a principled firm with strong
core values, and employees relish the opportunity to give to those in need. To assist impoverished children throughout the country, BSB Design partnered with HomeAid to create “The Spirit of New Orleans”. Fetching thousands at a fundraiser auction, this amazing miniature will add a glimmer of hope to the lives of some very deserving individuals.

The Sacramento office of BSB Design Make-A-Wish 064recently collaborated with Centex Homes and the Make-A-Wish Foundation to design and build a classroom, therapy space and personal haven. Leigh’s Syndrome makes it nearly impossible for little Maggie to even leave her house, but with a new schoolhouse in her own back yard, she can now attend school for the very first time.
