Chad Riney

Influenced by a family of framers and builders, Chad was immersed in the construction industry from the start. By age 16, he began framing houses to earn money, and by college he was running his own framing crew. After earning his business degree, he worked for an electrical engineering firm and a multifamily developer before finding his way to BSB Design in September of 2000. Today, he manages the day to day operations of the firm’s Dallas office and provides project management for single family and townhome projects in multiple regions. He enjoys working on a team toward the goal of creating homes where families can come together and make memories. Chad is an avid outdoorsman who loves hunting, fishing, hiking and camping.

Kevin Bauer
Job Captain
kbauer@bsbdesign.com

Lots of kids love LEGOs, but Kevin says they provided the key inspiration that led him to pursue a career in architecture. His passion for design started with a degree in landscape architecture, and he designed outdoor living spaces and pools for three years. He eventually completed his Master’s in Architecture and began work with several major design firms on projects ranging from hotels to financial institutions to large, custom home clients. Kevin joined BSB Design in 2014, where every project he works on begins by listening to the client. He then enjoys the complexities of each job and the creative problem solving that helps them succeed. Kevin’s interests outside the office are varied, including stained glass design and restoration, gardening, and his pets (Pugs and birds).

Oscar Chavez
Senior Draftsperson
ochavez@bsbdesign.com

Oscar developed an interest in drawing houses at an early age, and it eventually led him to pursue training in computer drafting and design. He joined BSB Design in 2014 and is responsible for developing projects in CAD from schematic design through construction documentation. He is proud to be considered dependable and honest among his colleagues, and he enjoys finding and fixing potential problems before they cause setbacks and delays. Oscar is a consistent, detail-oriented team member. His career has included work for private home builders and engineering firms, and he is a former United States Marine with four years of experience in military supply and logistics. In his spare time, he enjoys music and fixing anything that’s broken.

Mike Penrose

mpenrose@bsbdesign.com

With a love of drawing from early childhood, Mike has had lots of practice – and it shows. His colleagues consistently comment on how quickly he can produce high-quality design work. These quick solutions help clients envision their goals very early in the process, enabling revisions and pivots that increase profitability. Mike joined BSB Design in 2013 but worked for a number of major design firms before that, and his roles included landscape design and architectural design for projects in nearly every market segment. He enjoys sketching, reading and model trains – and the occasional friendly competition with his brother Andrew.
