As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, it is important to acknowledge our design DNA. From the cover home on the 1969 issue of AIA Record Houses, to our founder Jack Bloodgood’s declarative dream that “Every family deserves to live in a home designed by an architect,” BSB Design has chosen a path of growth and exploration as it has expanded over the decades. While our roots remain in housing, we have developed expertise in numerous other forms of architecture, which in turn we hope will lead to more thought-provoking opportunities in design as we build on our legacy.
It was graphic designer Joe Sparano who coined the maxim, “Good design is obvious. Great design is transparent.” The expression is true not just of printed and digital work, but of architecture, too. At BSB Design, that saying is indicative of the great design and collaborative work we do for every client, from the homeowner looking for a dream space to creating an expansive complex for several hundred people. These pages, the latest edition of inspire magazine, showcase just a sliver of the great design we work at every day, across this country. We hope you are inspired by what you see and what we can do. Please enjoy!
