At AV Homes’ 55-Plus ‘Encore at Eastmark’ Buyers Have their Sun and Family Too!

Encore is the only 55-plus neighborhood within ‘Eastmark’ – a master-planned community in the Sunbelt state of Arizona dedicated to growing families. “Encore was a perfect complement to the family neighborhoods Eastmark already created,” said Steve Snoddy, Vice President of Marketing for the AV Homes.

Located in the Phoenix, Ariz. suburb town of Mesa, Encore is the “first 55-plus community to be developed anywhere in ‘East Valley’ in seven years” and is the only one located within the acclaimed 3,200-acre Eastmark community. With inviting tree-lined roads and sidewalks, and walking and biking pathways that connect neighborhoods to one another, Eastmark sales are ranked No. 11 in the nation.

Ranging from approximately 1,300 to 3,200 square feet, Encore homes are more spacious than the typical 55-plus home and offer more open areas for entertaining and parties – or for the grandkids to play.

Upon completion, Encore will consist of more than 900 homes built from a series of four unique home designs with 16 floor plans.

BSB Design is proud to have worked with AV Homes to develop a wide variety of options for Encore at Eastmark buyers, with the most popular design features – such as inviting entry courtyards, expansive kitchens, and living areas, as well as innovative outdoor spaces.

AV Homes says the idea to add Encore to the Eastmark community “was born from the increasing number of 55-plus homebuyers who wanted to be closer to their children and subsequent grandchildren, but also be afforded the excellent amenities that Eastmark offers its residents such as a clubhouse, resort-style pool, spa, gym facility, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, bocci courts, and a billiard hall.”

According to the April 2016 report by Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies®, 55 percent of retirees identified proximity to family and friends as important criteria for choosing where to live in retirement – ranking only behind an affordable cost of living. Of the 39 percent who move after retiring, 27 percent of retirees do so to live closer to loved ones – particularly expressing a desire to be a bigger part of their grandchildren’s lives.

As a result, developers are creating 55-plus communities in locations across the country today – not just in the popular Sunbelt states.
